The fun continues Saturday at 52nd & Seawall as Family Service Center, the 2013 Beach Revue Charitable Partner, invites families for their second annual “RETRO-ACTIVE” event from noon to 2 p.m. for three-legged races, balloon tosses and more. This free event will showcase safe and fun ways to stay busy with your family all summer long.

Family Service Center, a non-profit counseling agency that has served Galveston County since 1914, will receive 20% of the overall profits from this year's Revue.

Islander By Choice, LLC is proud to contribute not only to the history and style of Galveston Island through the Galveston Island Beach Revue, but also to the work of non-profits who strengthen families and support communities in the area. This year, we have partnered with Family Service Center of Galveston County through financial giving, advocacy and a special event.

Family Service Center is a non-profit counseling agency that has served Galveston County since 1914. Their counseling and educational programs serve residents of all ages and incomes and offer a sliding fee scale to make services available and accessible to all persons. FSC employs a professional staff of skilled clinicians and has been an invaluable contributor of quality services to those in our community.

We’ve chosen to support Family Service Center by committing 20% of the overall profits from the 2013 Galveston Island Beach Revue. Additionally, on May 18th, before the Bathing Beauties Contest, Family Service Center will bring old-fashioned family fun back to the beaches of Galveston. Families are encouraged to come to 51st and Seawall at noon for a special event hosted by FSC. Sack races, three-legged races and balloon tosses are only the beginning. Families will also have a chance to walk around with their kids, learn about services to keep their kids safe, busy and happy all summer long, and then sit back and relax for the main show – the Bathing Beauties contest! Admission is free for these family-friendly events.

As we begin our 5th year with the Galveston Island Beach Revue, we are excited about the new and exciting opportunities this event brings our sponsors, our community partners and our many participants. We have grown from 300 spectators the first year to over 1500 spectators in year four, and this year is already proving to be our best yet.
